An annual meeting for federal, state and private land managers working in a collaborative effort to enhance capacity to implement ecological fire management in the Central Appalachian Forest, Western Allegheny Plateau, and Cumberlands and Southern Ridge and Valley ecoregions.

Some of the agenda for this year's meeting will consist of:

  • Managing for Safety, Resource Benefits and Public Engagement - Lessons from the Rocky Mountain Wildfire in Shenandoah National Park
  • Talking Fire: Techniques for Improving our Messages and Stories
  • Discussion of using fire as a tool to restore hydrotables, in order to promote the rare endemic species, found in Shenandoah Valley Sinkhole Ponds
  • Discussion on the Cellar Mountain Wildfire; lessons learned, communications, wildfire in Wilderness and private property.
