Definitions: For reference, below are definitions that the Landscape Partnership currently uses to understand and conceptualize different terms associated with equity and inclusion. Different resources shared on this page may use different definitions.

Training programs: Explore programs to build capacity and get training on conservation, agriculture, and working lands. Programs may have specific requirements to determine eligibility and ensure resources are accessible for historically underserved or marginalized producers and communities.

Intertribal Agriculture Council: Youth Programs: The Intertribal Agriculture Council created the youth programs as a response to the growing concern about the age gap in the agriculture industry. The goal and mission is to educate and empower Native American youth through the many services that IAC provides.

Intertribal Agriculture Council: Technical Assistance Network: The Technical Assistance Network provides direct assistance with USDA program access - outreach, eligibility, applications, and contract implementation support as needed. The Technical Assistance Network also leverages partnerships, supports project development, government-to-government relations, and focuses on resource identification to meet individual producer and Tribal community priorities related to agriculture, land management, and community development.

Intertribal Agriculture Council: E-Learning Platform: The Resiliency through Agriculture E-Learning Platform is accessible through a browser or mobile app. IAC developed an online curriculum that combines multiple strategies including webinars, podcasts, and in-depth online workshops to enhance agricultural technical assistance.

Tribal Stewards Inclusion Crews: Northwest Youth Corps: Our Tribal Stewards Inclusion Crews aim to inspire the next generation of Tribal land stewards. Tribal Stewards leaders and members complete work projects with the guidance and mentorship of trained conservation professionals. Emphasis is placed on holistic development, on the basis that healthy land supports healthy people. The Tribal Stewards Inclusion Crews follow our Youth Camping program structure and combine education and job skill training with outdoor adventure for 16 to 19 year olds.

Sloan Indigenous Graduate Partnership: The Center for Native Peoples and the Environment at the State University of New York's College of Environmental Science & Forestry is recruiting students for graduate study in diverse environmental sciences from ecology, sustainability, conservation biology to restoration and environmental engineering. As a member of the Sloan Indigenous Graduate Partnership, the program provides funding for full tuition and stipends for Native American students pursuing MS and PhD degrees.

Wedgworth Leadership Institute: The Wedgworth Leadership Institute for Agriculture and Natural Resources develops and refines the leadership capabilities of leaders in Florida agriculture and natural resources.

Michigan State University Extension: Great Lakes Leadership Academy: The mission of the Great Lakes Leadership Academy is to promote positive change, economic vitality, and resource conservation and enhance the quality of life in Michigan by encouraging leadership for the common good.

Online trainings: Online training resources like webinars and podcasts to learn more about how to incorporate equitable and inclusive practices into landscape work

Background on equity and inclusion: Resources to learn about the experiences of diverse and underserved communities and how inequity and exclusionary practices have shaped conservation, farming, landscapes, and communities. These resources are just a starting place: the best way to learn about the specific needs, interests, and priorities of communities is by listening directly to community members in your area and the community-based groups that serve them.
