Dr. Vargas-Moreno is a Lecturer and research scientist at MIT’s Department of Urban Studies and Planning where he teaches courses in topics such as landscape planning and urbanism, climate change analysis and adaptation design, ecological design and geospatial planning strategies. Currently he develops research in participatory simulation modeling and design for climate change and rapid urbanization with a special interest in Southern Florida. He is also the leading researcher in the efforts to develop Costa Rica's first spatio-temporal CO2 strategic accounting and planning system.
