The National Bobwhite Conservation Initiative is a recovery plan for Northern Bobwhites developed through the collaboration of the 25 state wildlife agencies throughout the core of bobwhite range. The National Bobwhite Technical Committee, made up of state and federal agency, academic and NGO partners provide technical guidance for the implementation of the Initiative.

Topics covered include the limiting factors for bobwhite habitat in pine systems, different thinning techniques in planted vs native pine stands, importance of prescribed fire in pines, and realistic tradeoffs between managing property for timber and/or Northern Bobwhite.

Working Lands for Wildlife: Northern Bobwhite, Grasslands and Savannas Framework for Conservation Action is a 2022 publication by NRCS capturing a long-term, large landscape conservation plan to recover central and eastern grasslands for northern bobwhite and other wildlife species. To support the win-win approach of WLFW, this framework also includes anticipated outcomes for risk management and revenue enhancements for agricultural/forestry operations, as well as measured outcomes for greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation.
