The Northeast Farmers of Color Network is an informal alliance of Black, Latinx, Indigenous, and Asian farmers making our lives on land in the Northeast region. There are 21 founding member farms and a total of over 515 farmers, land stewards, and earth workers in our network. Currently, the Network exists as a members-only listserv* and we also gather regionally and annually for skillshares and knowledge exchanges.

Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes

The Flathead Indian Reservation is home to three tribes, the Bitterroot Salish, Upper Pend d’Oreille, and the Kootenai. The territories of these three tribes covered all of western Montana and extended into parts of Idaho, British Columbia and Wyoming. The Hellgate Treaty of 1855 established the Flathead Reservation, but over half a million acres passed out of Tribal ownership during land allotment that began in 1904.
